NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police say a man claiming to be an electrician robbed a North Charleston bar and tied two victims up Saturday afternoon.
The North Charleston Police says shortly before 5 p.m., officers responded to the Owners Box on 7575 Rivers Ave. for a report of a robbery.
The victims said a man, dressed up as an electrician, came into the business, told them he was with the electric company and said he needed to inspect the electric box due to a blown transformer.
After manipulating the box, police say the suspect took out a gun and demanded money. The suspect got money from the register and a back office.
According to police, he then tied two victims with zip ties and took off.
A short time later, the victims were able to remove the ties, and ran to a nearby business to call police. Authorities say during the incident, one shot was fired into the wall.
No one was injured.
Police say the suspect is a black male, 6'2", in his 30's and was wearing a hard hat, reflective vest safety glasses, and carrying a metal clip board.
