LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC - Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputies who are assigned to a road patrol shift conducted a Cram a Cruiser food drive for Lexington Interfaith Community Services (LICS) between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Saturday, December 14 in the parking lot of a Kroger grocery store at 7467 St. Andrews Road near Irmo. The deputies work in the North Region Patrol District, which is based near Irmo.
Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said deputies collected 666 pounds of food during the drive. The food was donated to Lexington Interfaith Community Service (LICS) to distribute to underprivileged families in the Midlands area. Master Deputy Nicholas “Nick” Burt coordinated the Cram a Cruiser food drive, Metts said.
The Cram a Cruiser food drive reflects the Sheriff’s Department mission of providing professional law enforcement services that enhance the quality of life for all people in Lexington County, Metts said.
