BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Investigators are on the lookout for a man who robbed a Moncks Corner convenience store and threatened to shoot a clerk.
On Wednesday at 5:30 a.m., police responded to an armed robbery at the Scotchman on 120 West Main St.
Police say it all started when a clerk saw a man enter the store in a crouched position. According to the clerk, the suspect, who had his mouth and nose covered with his shirt, stood up and told the clerk,"Hurry up and give the money or I'll shoot you."
The suspect then came behind the counter and took the money in the cash register.
Authorities say he then quickly went to the back office where a store manager was located. The suspect then told the clerk to get into the back office with the manager, and demanded to know where additional money was to which the manager said there was no more.
The victims reported that as the suspect was leaving, he took both of the victims' wallets.
Police describe the suspect as a black male wearing a white t-shirt, gray pants and black tennis shoes.
