MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Authorities have identified a 21-year-old man who investigators say was fatally shot in Mount Pleasant on Wednesday.
The Charleston County Coroner's Office says the victim is Solomon Ancrum of North Charleston. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Charleston County Sheriff's Office continues to search for three men in connection to the incident.
According to authorities, the Mt. Pleasant Police Department responded to Dingle Road off of Highway 17 for a report of shots fired in the area at 10:50 a.m. When deputies arrived they found a green 2001 Buick Century at the end of Dingle Road with a deceased male victim in the driver's seat.
Witnesses say they saw three men run from the scene.
Cannon said the shooting happened in an unincorporated area of Charleston County. The sheriff's office is taking the lead in the investigation with the Mount Pleasant PD assisting.
Authorities say they are looking for three black male suspects, believed to be in their early to mid-20's. The sheriff's office say two of them had slender builds and were around 5'9", 150 pounds, with one wearing a red shirt and green shorts, and the other wearing a green shirt and black shorts.
The third suspect was described as a "larger" male last seen wearing a white tank top and tan shorts.
