JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Police say a tip from a citizen led to the arrest of a suspected James Island burglar.
The Charleston Police Department charged 25-year-old Brandon Tyrene Johnson with first-degree burglary. Authorities say Johnson's arrest stems from an incident on Aug. 8 when a Sage Bird View home was burglarized.
Police say Johnson's arrest is the result of a joint investigation with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office into recent residential burglaries on James Island and West Ashley.
CPD officials say the State Law Enforcement Division and the U.S. Marshals assisted in the investigation.
Authorities are continuing the investigation into the residential burglaries and car break-ins.
