SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC)- Summerville police are searching for a suspect who they say stole a woman's purse at gunpoint while she was walking up to her apartment Saturday night.
According to a report, the victim was in front of her apartment building at Sawbranch Apartments on Saturday, Oct. 13 around 11:40 p.m. when a man walked up to her pointing a handgun. The suspect grabbed her purse, hit her in the face with it, and ran away.
Sawbranch Apartments is located at 1815 Bacons Bridge Road.
The suspect was described as a black male between 5'10" and 6'0", and thinly built. He was wearing a long sleeve dark blue shirt, black pants, black shoes, and had a black bandana covering his face. He also had black dreaded hair reaching his shoulders.
Police say the victim did not receive any injuries as a result of the armed robbery.
