Police: 73-year-old man meeting woman for sex gets robbed

GEORGETOWN, SC (WCSC)- Police say a 73-year-old man got more than he bargained for when he allegedly met a 20-year-old woman for sex Monday night.

Georgetown Police Department officials say Raquel Lashawn Lee, 20, and two male suspects robbed the victim at gunpoint after he met with Lee behind a Quality Inn hotel on Church Street at about 8:30 p.m. Monday.

According to a report, the victim met with Lee under the understanding that he would pay her $20 for sex.

When the victim arrived at the hotel parking lot, Lee reportedly got into his car. Police say that while the two were talking, two men opened the doors to the victim's truck. One of the men was holding a gun.

The suspects punched the man in the face and pulled him out of the truck, demanding money and threatening to shoot him.

A report states that the man gave the suspects $20, but was told that wasn't enough. The victim was then told to write them a check. After the first one was torn up, the victim wrote a check for $500.

The two men and Lee then got into the woman's car and drove away.

Police later arrested Lee at her house early Tuesday morning. She has booked at the Georgetown County Detention Center. been charged with armed robbery and robbery while armed with a deadly weapon.

The victim is listed on the state's Sex Offender Registry.
