DANIEL ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Investigators say they are looking for the driver of an 18-wheeler which ran over the legs of an accident victim early Friday morning on Daniel Island.
The Charleston Police Department says it all started with a single vehicle accident in the area of I-526 and the River Landing Drive exit.
A witness said he saw the victims' SUV hit the left side of the road, then cross traffic and hit the right wall.
The accident caused the back seat passenger to be ejected from the vehicle. Police say that person was then ran over by an 18-wheeler that was also traveling east on I-526.
Authorities say they are looking for information regarding the 18-wheeler as it did not stop after striking the person.
Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Matt Wojslawowicz at (843) 965-4084.
