NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - A gas station was robbed early Sunday morning and North Charleston police are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect.
Police say the Circle K gas station at 8410 Dorchester Road was robbed at gunpoint around 5 a.m. on Sunday, July 1. The suspect demanded money from the register, and stole all the Newport cigarettes off the shelf.
The store clerk says the suspect entered the store with a gun in his hand, demanded money and told her "don't try anything funny, I don't want to have to shoot you." The suspect then put a duffel bag on the counter.
According to an incident report, while the victim was emptying the money from two registers into the bag, the suspect grabbed all the Newport cigarettes off the store shelf and stuffed them in the bag too. He then took the victim's purse.
Police say the suspect then left the store, but the store clerk lost sight of the suspect.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6-feet tall and 180 lbs. He was wearing a gray or green oversized shirt, black pants, black shoes, black gloves, and a black ski mask.
