CROSS, SC (WCSC) - The 8-year-old son of a man shot dead outside a Berkeley County nightclub over the weekend said Monday he has a message for the killer.

"I just want to say that he's bad," said Kiron Jenkins Jr.

The boy's father, 30-year-old Kiron Jenkins, was gunned down early Sunday morning in the parking lot of "Da Zone" on County Line Road in the Cross community.

Deputies say Jenkins apparently had an argument with the suspect just before he was killed around 3:30 a.m.

Jenkins' mother got the phone call that her son had been shot, but didn't know he had died until she went to the scene.

"I was stunned, couldn't believe it. It still don't seem like it's real," said Christina Jenkins.

"He was just ironing his shirt, I was in the bed and he was ironing his shirt. He said mom, see you when I get back, that was it."

Sheriff's investigators said there were between 50 and 75 people in the parking lot when the shots were fired. However no one has come forward with any information.

"I hope and pray that God would touch them so they can come forth and say exactly what happened and they can get the person or persons that did it," Christina Jenkins said.

"I just hope they catch the guy, so he can go to jail," said Kiron Jenkins Jr.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
