DOWNTOWN (WCSC) - Police are searching for the man they say robbed a College of Charleston student early Tuesday morning with a knife.
The robbery occurred around 2 a.m. on John Street near Meeting Street.
According to the incident report, the victim was walking home when what the victim describes as a homeless person asked him for money. When the student pulled out his wallet to show the man he did not have any cash, he saw the suspect begin to pull a knife out of the jacket he was wearing.
After noticing the knife, the victim says he gave his wallet to the man and ran off.
The suspect was described as a black male wearing blue jeans and a dark jacket. He is approximately 5'09" - 5'10", weighing between 150 and 160 pounds, in his late 20's to early 30's, and has scruffy facial hair.
