WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Police are investigating a shooting where the victim was found in an overturned SUV in West Ashley Tuesday afternoon.

The Charleston Police Department say officers responded to the Maryville neighborhood after a call came around 3:42 p.m. regarding shots fired in the area.
Investigators found the victim in an overturned SUV on 5th Avenue. Neighbors told officers that they heard 10 to 12 gunshots and a big crash.
Police officials reported earlier in the day that the 25-year-old victim was taken to MUSC and that he died. Police reported Tuesday evening that the victim was not dead and they are continuing to investigate the shooting.
