RIDGEVILLE, SC (WCSC)- New details have emerged from a shooting at a Ridgeville home on Wednesday.

A Dorchester County Sheriff's Office incident report states the man shot at 1015 Ridge Road, 47-year-old Willie Aundre Foy Jr., was actually shot by an 83-year-old man he was attacking.

Witnesses at the scene said Foy chased the older man around the yard before striking him in the head with a metal level. Deputies observed a swollen lump on the right side of the elderly man's head.

The 83-year-old man then ran inside before Foy forced his way into the home to attack him again. That's when the elderly man pulled the trigger and shot Foy in the stomach, witnesses said.

Deputies said the wounded Foy was belligerent and yelling profanities. The report states he told the 83-year-old man he was going to kill him next time and that he better not be there when he gets out of the hospital. The elderly man told deputies "I had to shoot him he was trying to kill me."

Foy was taken to MUSC for treatment of the gunshot wound. No one has been charged with a crime yet.
