NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston Police were called out to an armed robbery early Saturday morning at a restaurant on Rivers Avenue.
According to police, some employees were leaving Applebee's and walking to a vehicle around 4 a.m., when a black man wearing a mask and armed with a black handgun forced them back to the front door.
The victims told police they were forced to knock on the front door of the business until the manager opened the door. Authorities say the suspect took the manager to the back office and was forced to open the safe.
The suspect grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from the safe and left the scene.
Investigators say no one was injured and that this incident remains under investigation.
