DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A gruesome discovery was made by workers mowing grass Thursday along Interstate 26 in Dorchester County.
Authorities say the work crew discovered a body in the high grass in the median just before the 178 mile marker around 11:45 a.m. The crime scene is located near the Harleyville / Holly Hill exit.
Authorities say the victim apparently was dropped off not far from that location on Nov. 13, which means the body could have been there for almost a month.
Multiple departments including the SC Highway Patrol and the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office are on scene. Officials have reopened all lanes of traffic on I-26 westbound.
