NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police officers released a surveillance photo Friday morning of a man they believe robbed a Subway restaurant on University Boulevard on Thursday night.

Officers responded to the Subway restaurant just before 9 p.m. in reference to an armed robbery. Store employees and customers who were in the business at the time of the robbery, gave police an account of what happened.

Witnesses say the suspect entered the business with his shirt pulled up over the bottom of his face. The suspect then lifted his shirt and showed a gun in his waist band and approached the counter. The suspect told the employee at the counter to give him all the money. The suspect then grabbed the money and walked out the door.

Witnesses described the man as a black male approximately 6'3" and weighing 175 pounds. He had a full beard and was wearing black sweats pants with possibly jeans underneath, a black long-sleeve T-shirt, sunglasses and a black beanie. He was between 20 and 30 years old.

Anyone with information should contact North Charleston Police at 554-5700 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
