JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Investigators are searching for a suspect who robbed two people at gunpoint outside a Bank of America at the Freshfields shopping center on Johns Island.

The two victims told deputies that they were in the parking lot of the shopping center around 4:30 p.m. heading to Bank of America to drop a deposit when the suspect approached on foot.

Investigators say the suspect then took out a gun and took the deposit bags with an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a black male between 5'5" to 5'7", 150 to 170 pounds and 25-40 years old, wearing a blue ball cap, dark hoody jacket, jeans and black shoes.

The suspect then fled on foot in the direction of the traffic circle. Authorities say it is not known if the suspect continued on foot or left in a vehicle.

Authorities are continuing the investigation.
