MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say they have arrested two teenaged girls and two men in connection with an attempted murder in Moncks Corner.

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office charged 17-year-old Kelsey Rhae Mixon-Riles, 17-year-old Leanne Dolloff, 19-year-old Michael Brandon Whetsell and 20-year-old Andrew David Sartin with attempted murder.

It all started Monday night when deputies responded to a shooting and found a 21-year-old man lying in the grass in front of Devon Forest Elementary Monday night.

The victim was suffering from a gunshot wound to his left leg and a laceration on his lip.

According to the victim, Mixon-Riles picked him up at a home on Hawkridge Place. The victim said at one point while in the car, he became suspicious of Mixon-Riles and believed he was being "set up."

The victim told authorities that the car then stopped in the area of the Kingdom Hall on St. James Avenue. An incident report states that Dolloff approached the car, opened the truck and let Whetsell out.

The victim said that as he was getting out of the vehicle, Sartin approached him with a pistol.

According to investigators, while the victim was outside the vehicle, Sartin shot him once in the leg. The victim said Whetsell then came from behind and struck him in the mouth with the butt of a shotgun.

The victim said as he ran away, he heard two shots from both the pistol and the shotgun. Deputies responding to the scene recovered an ammo cartridge as well as two pieces of wadding.

The victim was transported to MUSC.
