NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police say a cashier was left crying and shaking after a regular customer came into a gas station and held a knife to her throat in North Charleston Tuesday night.
The North Charleston Police Department arrested 19-year-old William Tracy White and charged him with robbery.
Officers responded to the Kangaroo Express on 5154 North Rhett Ave. in reference to an armed robbery. When officers arrived they found the cashier crying and shaking. She told the officers a customer who came in regularly had robbed the store.
A police report states that the suspect jumped over the counter and demanded all the money from the register. The victim said she thought he was joking and said, "Are you kidding?"
Investigators say the suspect then took out a knife and held it to the victim's throat. The suspect then took money from the cash register.
