MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) -

MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) - A gruesome discovery in Moncks Corner when police find a Hispanic man shot to death in his car. They say it happened in the Park City Mobile Home Park off Highway 52, just after 9 p.m. Saturday night.

Residents say the crime scene tape, police canvassing the neighborhood, and news of the 32-year-old man shot to death in the mobile home park isn't quite what they're used to.

"I'm scared myself for my life. I don't know what's going to happen, so much happens. It makes me feel like I want to leave Moncks Corner to go back to Cross where I come from," a resident, who didn't want to be identified, said.

She says police aren't called out for crimes very often, but she sees them patrolling often.

"I don't know who is in the patrol car, but I know the cars would come back and forth and just keep going," she said.

Authorities returned to the scene the day after the shooting, and Live 5 News was there as investigators questioned potential witnesses.

Residents say they heard multiple gunshots, up to five of them, which they describe as sounding like firecrackers. Then they say they heard a car speed off from the scene. Police say someone called them right after hearing the gunfire. Police say they found the man in his vehicle, dead from gunshot wounds.

Just near the crime scene were a set of fresh tire tracks left behind in the grass. Police are staying tight lipped as their investigation continues.

Authorities are not releasing the victim's name at this time, but they say he was Hispanic.

Police say they have no leads at this time. If you know anything about this crime please call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
