CROSS, SC (WCSC) - Berkeley County sheriff's deputies are searching for a couple who they say shot and injured two people Sunday afternoon.

Deputies were called out to 1234 Spiers Landing Road in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, they found two people injured.

The sheriff's office identified the shooter as 29-year-old Derrick Alexander Smith, of Cross. Deputies say the shooting happened after Smith got into an argument with a resident at the home. The two people that were shot were bystanders and not the intended target.

Deputies say Smith is wanted on two counts of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. Authorities are also looking for Smith's girlfriend, 30-year-old Hannah Elizabeth Dean, of Hanahan. She also faces charges of accessory after the fact

Both Smith and Dean should be considered armed and dangerous.
