CHARLESTON, SC – The FBI is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of suspects wanted in at least 25 Asian restaurant armed robberies in the Lowcountry.
Armed robberies at Asian businesses have occurred in the Lowcountry in April, August, September, October and November, according to a release from SLED.
The armed suspects typically enter the restaurants wearing items such as gloves, masks, hoodies and dark clothing to conceal their identities.
SLED and the agencies investigating the robberies have formed a task force to investigate the crimes. The agencies involved include: SLED, the FBI, sheriff's offices from Beaufort County, Berkeley County, Charleston County, Colleton County, Dorchester County and Orangeburg County and the Charleston, Folly Beach, Walterboro, Holly Hill, Summerville and Goose Creek Police Departments.
