NORTH CHARLESTON, SC - Police are looking for a man who robbed the First American Cash Advance on Ashley Phosphate Road Wednesday.
Officers say a black man wearing a white shirt, khaki pants and a "Boonie" hat entered the check cashing business while talking on his cell phone. He asked an employee about Western Union transactions, dropped off two Western Union slips and then produced a white bag, police said.
He then told the store clerk, "Give me the money. I don't want to hurt you."
The store clerk filled the bag with money from the cash register and the suspect ran from the building. The victim saw a blue Crown Victoria pull out of the parking lot shortly after the robbery, police said.
Surveillance video was not immediate available. The clerk told police at least $1,400 was missing from the cash drawer.
Police have not been able to identify the suspect. If you, or someone you know, have any information regarding any crime, you are encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers.
