CHARLESTON, SC - A robber held up a Brinks Inc. security services employee and fired a shot at him this morning outside Citadel Mall in West Ashley.
The man was leaving a receiving area about 11:30 a.m. when the robber approached him, fired one shot at him and got away with an unknown amount of money, said Charles Francis, police public information officer. Francis said the man was injured and taken to a local hospital, but it was not clear if the man was shot. The man was treated and released, Francis said.
The suspect was black, had dreadlocks and was about 5 feet 6 inches tall and 150 pounds. He left as a passenger in a getaway vehicle, though Francis did not describe the vehicle.
