CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police are searching for three young adults who dumped soap into the pineapple fountain in Waterfront Park in downtown Charleston.
According to witnesses, the three suspects ran down Vendue Range and dumped several cups of laundry detergent into the fountain before jumping into the fountain. The witness said the three suspects talked to him, asked him to take photos of them in the fountain and told him they would be dumping soap into the fountain at Marion Square.
Police released two photos of the suspects Wednesday and are asking anyone that can identify them to call police. Police say the cost to clean up the soap is approximately $1,000.
There was no sign of vandalism at the fountain in Marion Square.
