Berkeley County authorities say a 78-year-old Summerville man has died after being severely beaten inside his home during an apparent robbery.
Neville Morgan, of Sheep Island Road, was found inside his home by a family members Thursday, April 12, suffering injuries from an apparent assault.
Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury says Morgan later died after being admitted to the intensive care unit at Trident Hospital. Salisbury says blunt force trauma was the cause of death, and the case has been ruled as a homicide.
Morgan was the target of a possible robbery, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office.
