CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — Federal marshals working on a tip through Crime Stoppers have arrested a man on murder charges in connection to a May 3 homicide.
Darnell Lamar Eddington, 30, of Adams Run, was arrested Wednesday at his home, according to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.
Eddington was wanted for the murder of Kenneth Dent. Eddington is charged with murder and possession of a firearm when committing a violent crime.
The sheriff’s office say Eddington shot Dent May 3 behind a home on Jupiter Hill Road. Dent’s death was originally ruled suspicious, and was upgraded to a homicide investigation the following day.
According to affidavits from the sheriff’s office, witnesses saw Eddington leaving the scene with a sawed-off shotgun and blood on his shoes.
Witnesses say Eddington threatened to harm them if they told anyone what they saw or heard, according to the sheriff’s office.
Eddington will have a Bond Hearing Thursday morning at 10 a.m.
