Thursday, February 9, 2017

Two men went into the Awendaw Dollar General store Friday night with guns drawn. They took money from the store as the held employees at gunpoint.
The suspects are described as black males with slender builds. Both men are believed to be between 5-foot-9 and 6-foot. Detectives with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office hope someone will see the surveillance images provided and be able to identify the men.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective W. Muirheid at 843-554-2238. You can also contact the detective by email at wmuirheid@charlestoncounty.org. You can also call Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
Friday night's robbery is at least the sixth robbery at a Lowcountry Dollar General Store since the start of 2017. We've asked law enforcement officials if they believe these men are responsible for all or some of the other robberies, but we have not yet heard back.
