NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — Charleston County Chief Deputy Coroner says 16-year-old Davon McNeil died at MUSC from head injuries after being struck by a vehicle Saturday in North Charleston.
Officials say the incident happened around 5 a.m. when the teenager was walking in the bicycle lane on Spruill Avenue and was hit by a green two-door Pontiac, occupied by three Hispanic males.
The vehicle left the scene and was last seen heading west on Spruill Avenue, according to police.
A vehicle similar to one pictured is what police say is the suspect vehicle.
“The vehicle was last seen fleeing north on Spruill Ave from the Union Heights area immediately after the collision occurred. The vehicle should have significant front-end damage, with paint missing from the front bumper. Damage to the windshield should also be visible,” said a press release from the North Charleston Police Department.
