JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCSC) -
Deputies are investigating a death that occurred on Johns Island Saturday.
Charleston County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the 2800 block of Ardwick Road to investigate a disturbance shortly before 9 p.m.
A woman told officers she was cooking when a relative of hers stumbled in with a stab wound to the neck. The victim stumbled back outside the residence, where he collapsed in the back yard.
Deputies were unable to determine how the victim sustained his injuries, or if the victim was involved in some type of physical altercation outside the residence. They did say a man at a nearby home told them he heard what he thought to be a man crashing through the woods toward his residence after hearing the screams of a woman.
The victim was transported to the Medical University of South Carolina, where he later died from his injuries.
