NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) - Authorities are currently investigating a robbery in North Charleston.
The North Charleston Police Departments and Charleston County officials responded to the A1 Food Mart on Spruill Ave and Bexley Street, shortly after 1 am in response to a robbery and shots fired.
According to officials, two store employees had exited the store and locked the front door when they were approached by an unknown person who presented a handgun and forced them back inside. The suspect demanded money and in the process fired a shot, striking one of the employees.
The suspect then fled the store.
The victim was transported to MUSC.
The suspect is described as B/M 5'09-6'00 medium - stocky build. He was wearing a black ski mask, black shirt, brown camouflage pants and black shoes.
