BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCBD) - One person was killed, and two teenagers were injured during a shooting in Berkeley County Wednesday evening. The Berkeley County Sheriff's Department says it happened around 4 p.m. on Elmwood Place.
Authorities have identified the victim killed in the shooting as 36-year-old Tammy Flowers, the wife of the suspect in the case.
The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office has issued a warrant for the arrest of Darryl Flowers in connection with this shooting. A vehicle he is believed to have been driving was found on Amy Drive in a neighborhood not far from the location of the shooting.
Deputies are searching the area near Amy Drive for Flowers.
The body of Flowers' wife was discovered just inside the doorway of the home. Two teenagers were also shot. They have been transported to the hospital. There has not been an update on the extent of the two teens' injuries.
William Harrison was asleep at his home on Elmwood Place when shots were fired down the street at 52 Elmwood. "I heard what sounded like three gunshots... what really woke me up was the cavalcade of police cars and ambulances."
Another man who lives on the street says he recently talked to Darryl about some problems Darryl was having. "I was there as a friend. Apparently I wasn't strong enough to hold him up."
