NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - Investigators with the North Charleston Police Department are looking for a suspect after a man was shot while walking down a street in North Charleston Monday evening.
Shortly before 6 p.m., police officers responded to the area of Ranger and Alabama drives in reference to shots fired.
Witness said that the victim left his home on Alabama Drive to go to the A-1 Food Store to get snacks.
Police say while walking to the store, the victim was shot at the corner of Alabama and Ranger drives.
According to a witness, the suspect was in a newer model Toyota with SC tags when he fired shots at the victim. Police describe the suspect as a black male wearing a gray shirt and hat.
Authorities say the victim ran back to his home where his sister picked him and drove to a hospital.
An NCPD report states the victim's injuries are non life threatening. The incident remains under investigation.
