PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WCBD) - The search is on for a suspect connected to an armed robbery at the Pawley's Island Dollar General store.
Georgetown County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery around 9:30 Sunday night at the Dollar General at 10400 Ocean Highway. The clerk told police that a man entered the store and demanded money from the register, while forcing the clerk to the floor with what appeared to be a handgun.
One employee got out through the front door and the suspect followed and then fled south on foot. No one was hurt.
The suspect is described as a black male of average height and weight. He was wearing a long-sleeve gray hoodie, gray sweatpants, white tennis shoes and wearing a mask.
