FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) - Horry County Police investigators were called to the scene Wednesday in Florence County where body parts were found related to a homicide.

Horry County Lt. Robert Kegler said investigators are responding as part of the missing persons investigation involving Angela Pipkin.

According to Florence County Captain Mike Nunn, body parts were found in an area off Papermill Road, which is near the Great Pee Dee River.

Florence County Coroner Keith Von Lutcken, who went to the scene Wednesday, said on Thursday the person died from a homicide. Von Lutcken believes the remains are those of a female.

32-year-old Angie Pipkin was last seen on January 16. Horry County Police took 46-year-old Randy Gale Robinson into custody in March and now faces murder charges in the disappearance of Pipkin.

According to an arrest warrant, it's believed Robinson killed Pipkin and disposed of her dismembered body at 34 Landing in Darlington County.

Robinson, of Murrells Inlet, was previously arrested and charged with obstruction of justice and stands accused of giving "misleading information" in Pipkin's case.

On Thursday, Von Lutcken confirmed the human remains were from a person who had been killed.

"The preliminary results of the autopsy regarding the skeletal remains have confirmed our findings, the manner of death is homicide," he said. "Skeletal samples have been sent to the State Law Enforcement Division’s DNA Laboratory for analysis. Identity of the remains are pending those analysis."
