One teen dead, one injured in North Charleston shooting

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) - One teenager is dead and another is injured after a shooting in North Charleston.

North Charleston Police Department responded to the 2300 block of Sorentrue Avenue near Accabee Road just before 6 p.m. Monday evening for shots fired. Police say they found two teenagers with gun shot wounds. Both were transported to the hospital, where a 15-year-old later died.

Witnesses told police four teenagers were on bicycles on that corner when a gold SUV stopped near South Allen and Sorentrue. They told police a man wearing black pants, a white t-shirt a red ball cap stepped out of the car and began shooting at the victims, hitting the two teenagers. Police say the suspect fled towards Dorchester Road on foot.

There is no word yet on the condition of the second victim.

This incident remains under investigation.
