Police: Argument leads to shooting at North Charleston hotel

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The North Charleston Police Department says one person is in custody and another in the hospital following a shooting Monday afternoon.
Police say the shooting happened shortly after 1 p.m. in the parking lot of the Siesta Motor Lodge on 4044 Rivers Avenue.
Authorities say two male subjects were involved in some type of altercation in the parking lot when the suspect took out a handgun and shot the victim.
Investigators say the suspect was apprehended by police a short distance from the scene.
The victim was transported to MUSC in serious condition.
According to police, the victim and suspect are acquaintances.
