RIDGELAND, S.C. (WCSC) - Ridgeland police say five suspects have been arrested and one suspect is sought in connection with two Tuesday morning shootings that appear to be connected.

Officers were called to Woodridge Apartments around 8:18 a.m. after several gunshots were heard in the area. Officials say a victim was found inside an apartment with a gunshot to his leg, and was transported to the hospital.

Police have identified the suspect as 29-year-old Dante Jenkins. Jenkins, who is considered armed and dangerous, is wanted on warrants for attempted murder and possession of a handgun during the commission of a crime.

Authorities say five suspects were arrested Tuesday in connection with another shooting that is believed to be in retaliation for the shooting at Woodridge Apartments.

Officers say several shots were fired into Jenkins' home located at 163 Shadetree Street around 11:41 a.m. A caller was able to give dispatch the description of the vehicle used in the shooting, which Ridgeland police and Jasper County deputies were able to track down.

Kadeem Jabril Zeigler, 21, Nathanel Drayton III, 26, and Akeem Jenkins, 19, Javante Pringles, 20, and Glenn Decosta, 23, were all charged with attempted murder. Jenkins was also charged with possession of a stolen handgun, and Pringles was also charged with possession of a handgun with obliterated serial number and possession of a handgun during the commission of a violent crime.

Officials say Zeigler was out on bond for an October 2010 charge of attempted murder in Beaufort County.

If you have any information on the location of Dante Jenkins, call Ridgeland Police Department at 843-726-7530.
