CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Sheriff's Office says the pedestrian involved in a hit and run Saturday night has died.

The victim is identified as 22-year-old Forrest Carlton. He died just after 1 p.m. Sunday at MUSC.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office Selective Traffic Unit said the accident happened on Plainview Road in West Ashley.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Carlton was struck by a vehicle on Ashley River Road between Plainview and Parsonage Roads around 8 p.m. Deputies said a concerned citizen was traveling in the area when they saw a man lying on the right side of the road.
