CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Sheriff's Office says the pedestrian involved in a hit and run Saturday night has died.
The victim is identified as 22-year-old Forrest Carlton. He died just after 1 p.m. Sunday at MUSC.
The Charleston County Sheriff's Office Selective Traffic Unit said the accident happened on Plainview Road in West Ashley.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Carlton was struck by a vehicle on Ashley River Road between Plainview and Parsonage Roads around 8 p.m. Deputies said a concerned citizen was traveling in the area when they saw a man lying on the right side of the road.
Authorities said the suspect's vehicle left the scene without providing any aid to the victim or information.
The suspect's vehicle is described as an early model black in color Dodge Charger or Challenger with possible front end damage and was last seen heading southbound on Ashley River Road, according to investigators.
