MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Officials with the Mount Pleasant Police Department say they have charged an 11-year-old in connection to two home burglaries.
Authorities say the minor was charged with two counts of burglary for his role in the burglary of two homes on Yachtsman Drive and River Vista Way which are both within the Harbor Section of Dunes West.
On Dec. 2, authorities responded to a home on River Vista Way for a burglary. The victim said three firearms were missing from his home.
Police said the victim had just returned home from a hunting trip and was putting his shotguns in his gun room when he noticed that a number of gun cases were empty.
A police report states the cases were lying directly under a window, which the victim found to be unlocked. Authorities say two shotguns and a pellet gun were missing from the home.
On Nov. 29, police responded to a home on Yachtsman Drive in reference to a burglary. The victims said that they left their home on Nov. 28 and returned home that following afternoon.
According to the victims, the rear door of their home was open along with an interior door that leads into the garage. The victims told investigators that it did not appear anything was stolen.
A police report states investigators were able to lift one partial fingerprint from the scene.
Both cases will be forwarded to Family Court.
