CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police say three suspects involved in an early morning armed robbery were arrested after an iPhone app was used to track the suspects' location.
Samuel Taylor, 18, and Damar Bailey, 21, are charged with armed robbery and possession of a gun during a violent crime. Michelle Sims, 21, is charged with armed robbery and financial card fraud.
According to an incident report, the victim was in the area of 18 Broad Street Thursday just after 12 a.m. when he was approached by the suspects, one of which pulled out a gun and demanded the victim's belongings.
Police say the suspects fled after taking the victim's wallet and Apple iPhone 4.
The report states officers were able to put the victim's Apple I.D. into an app called "Find My iPhone" which works to track the location of the user's phone.
Authorities say the victim's phone was tracked moving on I-26, and North Charleston police caught up to the suspects at a convenience store on Dorchester Road.
Taylor and Bailey's bonds were set at $300,000, and Sims' was set at $260,000.
