NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - North Charleston police officers are investigating a shooting that happened early Thursday morning.
Police say the shooting happened around 2 a.m. on Ashby Avenue, which is near the Park Circle area.
Investigators say a woman called dispatchers and told them she was headed to the Medical University of South Carolina with a male victim who was shot on Ashby Avenue.
Police said the woman refused to provide more information, but they were able to find a possible crime scene in the 5000 block of Ashby Avenue.
The male victim was treated at MUSC for a gunshot wound to the leg.
The incident remains under investigation.
