MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Officials with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office are looking for three suspects following a fatal shooting in Mount Pleasant Wednesday afternoon.
Sheriff Al Cannon said the male victim was fatally shot in a car. According to authorities, the Mt. Pleasant Police Department responded to Dingle Road for a report of shots fired at 10:50 a.m.
The Charleston County Sheriff's Office mobile command unit is also on scene, and a helicopter is assisting in the incident.
Cannon said the shooting happened in an unincorporated area of Charleston County. The sheriff's office is taking the lead in the investigation with Mount Pleasant PD assisting.
Witnesses say they saw three men run from the scene.
Authorities say they are looking for three black male suspects, believed to be in their early to mid-20's. Authorities say two of them had slender builds and were around 5'9", 150 pounds, with one wearing a red shirt and green shorts, and the other wearing a green shirt and black shorts.
The third suspect was described as a "larger" male last seen wearing a white tank top and tan shorts.
