NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police say a 45-year-old woman was arrested early Friday morning after attacking her boyfriend with a knife.
Michelle Potter has been charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.
According to an incident report, the victim was attacked at a home located at 3104 Accabee Road around 4 a.m.
The victim told deputies Potter became upset after he mentioned that she had been drinking all day. Potter then grabbed a knife from the kitchen and attacked him.
Officers say the victim was able to take the knife away, and when Potter went outside he locked the door.
Police say Potter claimed the victim called her names and attacked her, slammed her to the ground, pulled off her weave and choked her.
The report states a witness at the scene was able back up the victim's story.
Potter is being held at the Charleston County Detention Center.
