SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Authorities are investigating after several gunshots were fired into a Summerville home from a stolen car early Friday.
According to a Dorchester County Sheriff's Office incident report, the shooting happened just after 1 a.m. in the 100 block of Braly Drive, near Terry Avenue. That's located in the Greenhurst subdivision.
Witnesses said they saw a light-in-color, older-model two-door Honda carrying a number of suspects stop on the road in front of 107 Braly Drive. Witnesses said one suspect leaned out of the window and started firing shots at 110 Braly Drive, a single structure which houses neighboring apartments.
Following the shooting, witnesses said the vehicle sped off towards Miles Jamison Road. Deputies found an empty, gold Honda Accord idling in the road on Terry Avenue. Authorities say the vehicle was reported stolen out of Charleston County on Wednesday. A bullet was found next to the driver's-side door.
Fresh tire tracks were seen next to the Accord, indicating the suspects used a second vehicle to speed off.
Three people were inside apartment A and a family of four were inside apartment B at the time of the shooting, but no one was injured, according to the report. Bullets holes were found on the front and right sides of the home. The glass door to apartment A was also shattered by a bullet.
A number of vehicles parked outside the home also suffered damage from bullets. Several shell casings were found at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing. If you have any information regarding the shooting, call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
