WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Police arrested a man early Sunday in the Parkwood Estates neighborhood of West Ashley, recently plagued by a number of car break-ins.

A Charleston Police Department incident report states officers responded to the vicinity of 1201 Parkwood Estates Drive around 12:30 a.m. after receiving reports of three suspicious men walking toward Kensington Drive. While patrolling nearby Hollywood Drive, police said they saw a man riding a bicycle west toward Handel Lane.

As officers approached the man, they said he ditched the bicycle and fled into the back yard of a home at 321 Hollywood Drive. Officers said they followed on foot, and chase the suspect over a wooden fence and down Hollywood Drive before taking him into custody in the front yard of 327 Hollywood Drive.

The suspect, 24-year-old Curtis Lamar Frasier, was carrying phone chargers, a pair of headphones, and about $15 in cash and change, police said. One neighbor in the area confirmed one of the chargers was stolen from his silver Lexus parked outside his Kensington Drive home. The man’s girlfriend confirmed Frasier was one of the three men she'd seen walking through the neighborhood.

She also said her vehicle was rummage through. Both vehicles were unlocked, according to police.

Frasier was charged with receiving stolen goods. He was taken to the Charleston County Detention Center.

If you have any information on the other two suspects, call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
