WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC)- Authorities say nearly $20,000 worth of mechanical jumpers were stolen off a SCE&G truck while the vehicle was parked in a secured lot earlier this week.
Walterboro Public Safety were called out to SCE&G on Jeffries Hwy. in Walterboro on Monday around 7:40 a.m. in response to a theft.
Officers say 39 mechanical jumpers of different gauges were stolen off a truck that was parked in a fenced in area at the SCE&G lot. The jumpers are valued at $19,500.
According to a report, the suspect(s) used bolt cutters to cut the chain link fence surrounding the lot.
The bolt cutters were recovered at the scene, and will be dusted for fingerprints.
