NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office says they have arrested the man responsible for a shooting outside a club which left one man dead and another injured.
Chief Deputy Sam Richardson said Dorchester County and Charleston County sheriff's deputies arrested 21-year-old Thomas Scott McFadden Jr. in West Ashley on Monday. He is charged with murder and attempted murder.
Investigators say McFadden fired the shots which left 26-year-old Rashaad Lamarks Banks dead and another 23-year-old man injured. The shooting happened around 2 a.m. on Sept. 13 outside Club Rehab, located at 8484 Dorchester Road, but Banks' body wasn't found until a motorist saw him five hours later in a ditch just off the road near the club.
Dorchester County sheriff's investigators believe Banks hid when they initially responded to the scene. They reasoned that Banks, who died from blood loss, suffered wounds in the shooting that should not have been immediately life-threatening.
McFadden is being held in the Dorchester County Detention Center after he was denied bond, which is customary for murder suspects.
The case is still under investigation.
