NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A teenager is accused of raping a 4-year-old girl at a home in North Charleston.

The North Charleston Police Department charged Myron Nevarez on Thursday with criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

In the early morning hours of Aug. 1, police responded to Trident Medical Center in reference to a sexual assault of a 4-year-old girl.

The victim's mother told investigators that she and her daughter live at a home on Dorchester Road with Nevarez and his mother.

According to the victim's mother, she left her daughter with Nevarez and his mother to go to the store, and when she returned, her daughter approached her and said "her bottom" was hurting.

An incident report states Nevarez told the mother that the victim's injuries were caused when she fell on a toy airplane.

Investigators state Nevarez said he removed the victim's underwear, wiped blood away and put a new pair of underwear on her.

The mother said when she asked her daughter what had happened, she said the suspect "put his privates on me."
