SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Summerville police have identified the alleged serial burglar who was captured Monday night after a man used his iCloud account to track his stolen iPhone.

Summerville Police Captain Jon Rogers said officers arrested 30-year-old Tony Clay Johnson Jr. on Monday after using Gerald Livingston’s iCloud to locate stolen property at 105A Bell Drive in Lincolnville.

Livingston’s home was burglarized early Monday morning.

"They just grabbed everything they could and they were piling it into some van or truck that was close by," Livingston says, adding that televisions, cameras, sports equipment, and cell phones were among the items taken.

Using the iCloud, Livingston pinpointed the location. "I was so excited - I was like, ‘There they are -- we can actually get them, we know where they are." I was really excited," he said.

Livingston contacted authorities, and later Monday they searched the spot on Bell Drive and recovered items stolen from Livingston. They also found property stolen from three other burglaries.

Rogers said all the burglaries happened while resident were sleeping.

Johnson is charged with four counts of first-degree burglary but could face more charges. He's being held in the Dorchester County Detention Center, awaiting a bond hearing.
